A Daddy tells his young daughter about the pending divorce
from the child's mother.

I took her in my arms and whispered please try to be strong
There is something that I have to say.
It hurts so much to tell you and it seems so very wrong
The time has come for me to go away.

She trembled in my arms as tears were rolling down
her cheeks, and said, Do you really have to go?
I thought the way you loved me was forever and for keeps
There is something I just have to know.

I held her closer to me and spoke softly in her ear.

It's a beautifully written poem but brings tears to my eyes as I hear that little child's and her daddy's heart just breaking just so loudly. No fair is it?
